The Headies 2011....Tuface Idibia, M.I and Darey Win Big; Wizkid walks home with an SUV

Despite the heavy downpour and traffic, the Exhibition center of the prestigious Eko hotel and suites was filled and brimming with stars.
Everyone attempted to look their best on the red carpet. It would be an Herculean task to describe what every single person wore so I'll let pictures do the talking in our next post okay? Good!
The event kicked off with the hosts Rita dominic and eLDee opening the event. There were musical performances by Waje, Soundsultan who brought the 'Orobos' on stage, the kele kele love lady, Tiwa Savage and others.
Ahhh, yes! How can I forget this? For the first time in my life, I saw a boxing ring set up on stage. Guess why? You already know......Joor oh! Jahbless got on stage ready to perform the Joor oh(remix) but to our dismay, some of the artistes featured were absent, durella, ruggedman. At the end, the boxing ring wasn't used and the performance was what I would call DULL! Oops!
Another highlight of the night was a rumored hair-ripping fight between RnB singer, Dencia and Liz Garvey backstage for reasons best known to them maybe.
Dr Sid also made news when his performance went awry probably due to a mix-up with the DJ. He apologized and said he'll be back but used the F-word while the mic was still on, to the surprise of everyone present. Not nice!
Amongst the winners last night was young pop sensation, Wizkid who smiled home with a Hyundai Sonata for clinching the coveted Next Rated award.
Lyricist on the Roll award as expected went to Mode9 for the song 'Rhyme tight'. This award as someone stated should be named 'Mode9 award' as it is his 6th time on the roll. His unique performance at the BET Naija Cypher proved it was well-deserved.
Congratulations!!!
